Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing has announced the top trends gracing their 41 stores (and website) in the upcoming Spring 2014 season. Here's what you might want to start keeping your eyes out for:
(Oscar de la Renta Chandelier Crystal Necklace, $885)
...in shades ranging "from blush to anything but shy," Downing says.
2. White with Black
(Nicholas Kirkwood Zigzag Point-Toe Loafer, $560)Also a major red carpet trend, Downing sees the opposing colors as "partners in style."
3. Shirt Chic
(Mireya Acierto/Getty Images North America)He advises, "Keep cool under the collar." We think Olivia Wilde exudes coolness in her fashion-forward collared ensemble.
4. Short Stories
(Mark Davis/Getty Images North America)"Tops and bottoms get the crop," as Jessica Alba so flawlessly demonstrates.
(Stella McCartney 'Beckett' Soft Faux-Leather Backpack, $1,320)Like Net-a-Porter's prediction, Neiman Marcus also foresees the rise of backpacks in styles that are "more refined than roughing it."
6. Summer Booties
(Available for pre-order: Valentino Embroidered Peep-Toe Ankle Boot, $1,445)"Straps and cutouts keep it cool," the director explains.
7. Layered Bracelets
(Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images North America)"All eyes on the wrist," Downing proposes. Bella Thorne does just that.
8. Artistic Prints
(Photos courtesy of Neiman Marcus; Available for pre-order: Alexander McQueen De-Manta Silk Feather-Print Clutch Bag, $540)"Build a collection," he suggests. Don't mind if we do.
9. The Pink Lip
(Angela Weiss/Getty Images North America)"The color on everyone’s lips," according to Downing. And we have to agree.
10. Denim on Denim
(Bauer Griffin)"Rock the blues from head to toe," he concludes. Alessandra Ambrosio paves the way.
