bought a $6.69 million sixth-floor apartment in New York's Gramercy Park neighborhood—but, for some reason or another, he never bothered moving in. The property—a 2,150 square foot pre-war condop situated at 50 Gramercy Park North—features a chef's kitchen with Miele appliances, three bedrooms, and private access to Gramercy park (one of the last remaining keyed private parks in New York City), as well as Gramercy Park Hotel amenities (read: housekeeping, catering, room service, concierge, valet, and access to the hotel's fitness center, spa, and private club).
After putting it back on the market in 2011 for $6.5 million—already a loss—the apartment
finally shifted a few weeks ago... for $4.5 million, more than a $2 million loss off the price Lagerfeld himself paid.
