Keira Knightley to Play Coco Chanel in Karl Lagerfeld-Directed Film

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first Chanel boutique, which — fun fact! — was in the seaside town of Deauville, France, not Paris — Karl Lagerfeld is directing a short film to debut alongside the label's cruise collection in Singapore this May, WWD reports. And the designer cast a slew of Chanel campaign and catwalk alums to star in it.

Keira Knightley, queen of period pieces and the face of Coco Chanel perfume, plays Gabrielle Chanel herself, and Stella Tennant, Tallulah Harlech, and Caroline De Maigret all have roles, as does Karl Lagerfeld entourage member Brad Kroenig and his son, Hudson.

You know, this little guy.

No word on whether Choupette will make a cameo, but we're guessing that any cat who gets her hair done three times a day is more than ready for the big screen.
