3 Fashion Predictions Based on The New Great Gatsby Trailer [VIDEO]

The Great Gatsby (YouTube)
"You can't repeat the past," Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) tells West Egg's main man Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) in The Great Gatsby's flashy brand-new trailer.

Well, lucky for us, the exuberant Gatsby's response to his nosy neighbor is "Why, of course you can," because we want to repeat and recreate each and every single one of Daisy Buchanan's (Carey Mulligan) flapper girl looks from the 2-minute clip—and something tells us we're probably not alone here.

So, we can say with fair certainty, you can probably expect to see these three Jazz Age-y things everywhere in 2013:

A revival of the ultra-short bob:

Short cuts are already starting to, uh, crop up on the red carpet—everyone from Karlie Kloss to Leighton Meester is rocking a short new 'do as of lately. Plus by May 2013, Anne Hathaway's chocolate pixie will probably have grown into the perfect ear-length cut, don't you think?

Ornate extras:

Pearl-encrusted headbands, jeweled accents, and lavish fur stoles—be prepared to layer on lots of glitzy, glamour-evoking accessories next spring.

Swingy Fringe:

Probably the most literal reinvention of the flapper era, we bet tons of hemlines and handbags will sport this swingy stuff. Let's just hope they leave the current crop top craze out of the mix—even though, sadly, we bet someone (Kesha? Rihanna? Kim Kardashian?) will wear something similar (if not exact) to the outfits above. You've been warned.

As if we haven't teased you enough about the flick, which hits theaters on May 10th, check out The Great Gatsby's new trailer—and don't forget to leave your thoughts (plus your own fashion predictions!) in the comments section, below!
