Bon Appetit recently sat down with style icons Kate Spade and hubby Andy Spade to talk—what else?—food! Here are our favorite parts of the interview, which, if you're as obsessed with the Kate Spade super-prep-with-a-twist lifestyle as we are, you must read right here.

On the quintessential Spade dinner party menu: "Ideally it's meatloaf and mashed potatoes, paired with elegant lighting, candles, and flowers. For dessert, I serve Duncan Hines chocolate cake or banana cream pie. Give me a cake like your grandmother makes!"

On the best theme party in recent memory: "Our friends Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson in Napa just threw a Maine-themed party. It was insanely perfect. There were 50-foot-long tables with barrels of seafood. We ate with our hands, cracking open lobsters and crabs and shrimp."

Favorite cocktail to serve? Southsides: "lemonade, vodka, club soda, and muddled mint."

Favorite snacks? "Triscuits. Every time I go to the market, Andy says, 'Don't forget the Triscuits!'"
