The Bling Ring Stole Miranda Kerr's Underwear, Saint Laurent Introduces 'Permanent Collection,' and More!

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr was a target of the Hollywood teenage crime group (and the subject of Sofia Coppola’s latest film) the Bling Ring. They stole her underwear! (Ew.) Nancy Jo Sales, the writer who penned the article upon which the move is based, is coming out with an entire book next week on the topic. She told Vanity Fair, 'The fact that they stole the underwear just seems so weird, but it’s not weird when you think about it, because they’re growing up at a time when their culture is constantly telling them to be sexy. Everything from toys to video games to music to fashion is hypersexualized for girls. Stealing their underwear was part of a whole trend to emulate these celebrities. They don’t just want expensive underwear; they want Paris Hilton’s underwear.' [Vanity Fair]

To mark the opening of their new Avenue Montaigne flagship location, Saint Laurent has created a 'permanent collection' of classic items — Le Smoking, a leopard print coat, a duffle bag, crepe de chine blouses in black and white, a motorcycle jacket — which they plan to sell in the store year-round. 'It was nothing like any fashion shoots we have ever been on,' designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez said of dressing the band. 'It was totally off the cuff. It wasn’t at all about the clothes, which for us was a first, but more about having fun and playing around. It was totally outside any fashion context, which we loved.' [Style.com]
