Opening Ceremony never misses a beat when it comes to cashing in on a
buzzy collab, so this probably doesn't come as much of a shocker — the New York-based brand is teaming up with the costume designers of
Spring Breakers on collection of "fun-in-the-sun essentials,"
reports
WWD.
Per usual, all the suspecting beach gear will be there — unisex sweatshirts, sweatpants, mesh jerseys, cropped T-shirts, bikinis (duh), backpacks and beach towels — the designs, however, are
so
much more than that.
In true spring break fashion, each of these everyday essentials will be graphic — no really,
graphic — accented with prints such as
a) pot leaves,
b) dripping ice cream cones, and
c) our personal favorite, if you can call it that, monograms of the charming acronym "DTF."
WWD didn't mention on what (or
where) exactly, the suggestive slogan will be adorned, but based on the film's trailer, we're guessing Opening Ceremony is going to go all
Juicy Couture circa-2005 and will slap the saying right across the
ahem.
(Photo via YouTube)Now, if somehow, someway, you've managed to keep your virgin eyes hidden from the
Spring Breakers trailer, the
aforementioned garments will make much more sense after seeing about 10 seconds of this.
The movie, as well as the capsule collection, will make their big debuts on March 22nd. If anything, it's worth watching
James Franco rock grillz and cornrows, right?
