Lena Dunham Is Creating a Show About Bergdorf Goodman

Not satisfied with being called the voice of her own generation, Lena Dunham is taking on another demographic — octogenarians.

The Girls star is teaming up with her co-showrunner Jenni Konner to write a new HBO show about 85-year-old Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper Betty Halbreich, called All Dressed Up and Everywhere to Go.

It sounds like Halbreich is the perfect subject for a comedy series — a 1998 New York Magazine profile describes her as a "brassy Chicago native with a manner that's part Angela Lansbury and part Lucille Ball," before deeming her "the queen mother of personal shoppers."

And Halbreich has definitely earned that "queen" title. Let's take a look at some of her accomplishments:

And taught Candice Bergen how to walk in high heels.

Oh, and she still works on the third floor of Bergdorf Goodman, and if go to see her, she won't tell you that you look fabulous.

"I hate when a salesperson tells a customer she looks fabulous," Halbreich told New York Magazine. "What does that mean? And I really hate when they say something is only $1,000. That’s a lot of money. I don’t even know how to ask customers how much money they want to spend. It’s too embarrassing."

We can't wait to see these awkward fitting room situations play out on the small screen.
