Is Nicola Formichetti Going to Diesel?

Yesterday, we learned that Nicola Formichetti left his post as Mugler's creative director — a "mutual decision," according to the label. And today, Page Six reports that the designer is heading to Diesel.

According to "sources" — Formichetti's pomeranians, we're assuming — he's about to be named creative director of the denim brand.

If this ends up being true, we wouldn't be too shocked. The designer sat front row at last season's Diesel Black Gold show.

And, as Page Six notes, he was partying with Diesel founder Renzo Rosso at Paris Fashion Week's Edun bash. Which, okay, doesn't really prove anything.

The only really telling thing — the thing that means he's about to make some kind of big move — is his recent barrage of cryptic tweets ("Reinvent, Restart," "Restart the operating system,"  "Shut it down and restart again. Ready for this?") paired with Instagram photos of, like, blank screens and red squares.

This is the fashion equivalent of those people who post status updates on Facebook that are just like "?" or "..." or "wow," causing all of their friends to leave comments like "what's wrong?" "you ok?" And then they're like "I can't say it here. I'll text you." And you're watching this go down, like "ughhh."

So, Nicola, text us?
