(Photos by Getty)Despite all the headline freakouts this morning along the lines of "OMG, JLaw Ripped Her Dress," it turns out
Jennifer Lawrence didn't technically have a wardrobe malfunction at last night's SAG Awards — she just didn't practice proper gown-gathering etiquette.
Before we get into the nit-picky details, let us catch you up to speed in case you missed the show. After winning the Best Actress award, (side note: woot!) Lawrence headed up to the stage to deliver yet another
heartfelt acceptance speech when this happened:

From first glance, it appeared the actress had ripped her Dior Couture gown, leaving its satin fabric hanging from a sheer panel, but
au contraire, the dress was purposely fashioned that way, according to the
Telegraph. JLaw's dress is constructed with multiple panels, and as the paper pointed out, it's common practice for designers to prevent bulkiness by using tulle pieces underneath heavy skirts.

confirmed with Raf Simons' camp that the
walking pneumonia-stricken star — not to be confused with the less-scary-but-still-totally-frightening
normal pneumonia — indeed, did not rip her gown.
So there you have it. Whether accidentally hiking your skirt up too high counts as a wardrobe malfunction, we'll let you make the call. It certainly wasn't the
Sofia Vergara butt-baring disaster of 2012, though. That's for sure.
