In the realm of cross-industry celebrity collaborations, here's one we didn't see coming. Crossover country star Taylor Swift has teamed up with ex-America's Next Top Model "noted photographer" Nigel Barker to release a book called 8 Hours/Taylor Swift—out this month and available for a limited time exclusively at Sony stores around the country.
The book chronicles eight hours Barker spent with Swift in Southern California—and represents "one of the most extensive photo collections of Swift published to date," according to the news release.
"Photographing one of the most famous pop icons of our time could have been a challenge, but working with Taylor was like a dream sequence," Barker said. "In one day, we managed to shoot and entire book's worth of images and multiple short films. You daren't put your camera down for a moment for even when she's exiting the stage it's iconic."
The book will be available beginning November 12th at Sony stores around the country—and will be given to customers who buy a Sony Alpha DSLR or NEX camera (while supplies of the book last). Just in case you're not planning on buying a fancy camera anytime soon, you'll have a chance to get your hands on a copy via eBay—Sony will be auctioning ten signed copies of 8 Hours/Taylor Swift to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
What do you think about this collab? Did you ever expect these two to work together? We're kind of surprised, but can't wait to see the result!
