Sunday Trippin’ with Mackenzie of Design Darling

When I first visited Mackenzie’s  blog a few weeks ago, it was love at first sight. Not only does she have impeccable taste (and she really does!) but there is a charming, down-to-earth quality to her writing that really draws you in. Her posts are gorgeous, and she never comes across as pretentious or better-than-you; she is just a lovely girl who likes lovely things, and who happens to be really good at what she does. Innately fabulous, gracious and more than capable to inspire, she was a perfect pick for Sunday Trippin’. So here we go:

 

1. If you could pick a destination to travel to right now, what would it be and why? 
I would love to take a trip to Palm Beach for a little relaxing and vintage shopping. Do you suppose I could write it off in the name of inspiration for my new business?

 

2. What 5 essentials from your wardrobe/home would you bring with you?

 

 

A cute tank, some stylish sunnies, a fab pair of wedges, my trusty SPF, and a chic carry-on.

 

3. What item would you buy before the trip to take with you?

 

 

Definitely these sandals. I love the bright color and my wardrobe is brimming with bows!

 

4. The last quotable thing you heard or read, and why did it leave an impression?


This Steve Jobs quote gets me every time. I’ve definitely found what I love and I’m determined every day to do great work. Steve’s entrepreneurial spirit definitely resonates with me!

 

5. What inspires you right now:

I am inspired each and every day by the young women I have met through blogging. It’s incredible to watch women you admire chase their dreams of becoming an interior designer, launching a styling business, opening an online store, you name it. Finally I decided to get in on it! ;)

 

6. Words to live by: 

“He who has a beginning has half the deed done.” I’m a procrastinator by nature but my dad always says this to remind me that getting started is the hardest part!
