Lanvin’s Resort collection is a whirlwind trip

Alber Elbaz’s resort / pre-spring 2013 collection for Lanvin flirts with a number of different moods. It plays with graphic black and white stripes, moves through tailoring and structure, nods briefly at the 1920s before whirling about and becoming entirely sportswear driven, replete with clear plastic sun-visors and bold block colours. The most elegant moment finds itself wrapped up in Elbaz’s trademark draping, asymmetrically: first in a short red dress, then a long yellow one. Finally, gold lame and palm prints bring this whirlwind resort holiday to an 80s glamour-studded close.
