Pinspiration: Valentine’s Day crafts and sweets

I have come down with the flu, so I have more time than usual to think about random stuff… like how to celebrate Valentine’s Day! It falls on a week day – not only that, but on a day when I have a course, which means I need to leave the house just as Sascha is getting home. Usually I leave dinner ready, but this coming Tuesday I’d like to leave a few Vday-inspired goodies as well. I already have the classics ready: a box of Lindt praline with a lovely card… but how about something fun? Something I can make (or bake) during the day with the girls and surprise him with when he gets home from work?

Like some heart-sprinkled cupcakes

or some colorful shortbread cookies

or some sweet “XOXO”?

Or these, that look like they would be lots of fun to decorate

But what I would really love to give him, is a “heart attack”. The non-lethal, almost-too-cute kind:

I would probably not attempt some of these on my own, but the girls are going to be on vacation next week, so I might actually manage to make some of these and keep them entertained, as an added bonus ;-)

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?
