New York Fashion Week – Fall 2013: OPI Creates Lace Look for Houghton Show
This is one of the prettiest nail art looks we’ve seen come out of the New York Fashion Week 2013 shows this week: OPI’s lace-adorned nails for designer Katharine Polk’s Houghton collection. The look was created by using a base layer of OPI nail lacquer in Samoan Sand and then a layer of Polk’s lace designs on top.
When re-creating this lace look at home give yourself plenty of time as this technique requires patience and repetition. Start off by cutting out pieces of lace that are relatively similar to the shape of your nails. Then add your base colour to one nail and apply the lace. Trim off the excess edges and then move on to the next finger. Once all your nails are covered in lace, apply two layers of a top coat and you’re done! We found a tutorial that shows you these steps, check it out below:
Katharine Polks creations can be custom ordered or found online here for purchase or retail.
OPI lacquers retail between $5 – $12 each and can be purchased in drugstores, online and in salons.
