Making a Statement: Printed Pants
A trend that has been all over the catwalks for spring summer 2013, printed trousers are establishing themselves as a wardrobe staple.
While printed 80s vintage trousers have been popular with hipsters for a few years now, the up-to-date version is tailored with a sleek silhouette.
Kristen Stewart and Canadian model Janice Alida both loved this trend at Paris Fashion Week SS13, and it continues to be a favourite with bloggers and Fashion Week goers. We expect to see much more of this at the fashion shows to come and during spring and summer.
Australian labels Finders Keepers and Stylestalker interpreted the printed pants trend beautifully with photographic and geometric prints respectively. For an elongated leg and a slightly louder look, jeans label Genetic‘s striped denim are straight with a hint of a flared leg.
Whatever your choice, printed pants are a statement garment. Team them with a plain-coloured top, whilst keeping the rest of the outfit quite simple, allowing all the emphasis to be on the trousers. If you’re brave, go bonkers and mismatch for a cool clashing look that is bound to make an impact.
