Oh someday, I ain't wasting no more time ♫ by queenb-nyc featuring long belts1. Tell us about yourself.
My name’s Audrey, I’m nineteen and I live in south-west of France. I am a student in Applied Arts. Drawing, designing, creating… is my life. I’m breathing for that. That’s more than a hobbie, this is a vocation. I’ve always felt like I belonged to all the artistic stuffs. Actually, for the little story, I was seven when my teacher told me what exactly means « fashion-designer ». I was like, speechless.
All the little girls wanted to be a princess, for wearing lovely dresses and glowing jewelry, but I thought that imagining them was so much better ! And then I found my dream job. But I discovered that there are so many ways for creating nowadays, I mean with Internet, and I haven’t found the one that could fit best yet. But I’m young, and I have all my life for searching.
I may add that I’m in wheelchairs. I’m a disabled person. I am born like that, and actually, I don’t care at all. I am a positive person, at least I like to think so, and I’m always finding positive into the negative. I love to draw clothes especially, but this year in my new college, I discovered a lot, learned a lot. That’s the best thing. I love learning and improving. With website like Polyvore, I can do that everyday ! That’s almost magical.
2. What's the story behind your Polyvore profile name?
Okay, so my nickname is QueenB-NYC.
Queen B is the a reference to Blair Warldof from Gossip Girl, the famous Tv Show from CW. I instante loved her. She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in her gorgeous and classic style, and well, she rules New York!
NYC, easy to tell. This is my biggest dream, oh yes it is. I want badly to visit this amazing city, to see a show in Broadway, chill out in Central Park, see the Statue of the Liberty with my own eyes, and well, do some shopping, because I’m a girl, in love with fashion for like forever, and I just can’t help it.
3. What are your personal aspirations/goals?
I want to shine. Not like a superstar, just by my own happiness. I know that, somehow, I can make it. Having my dream job, or just a creative one, which is already fantastic, and then create, improve, learn, share, love. I want to express my potential, in a way or another. It’s not destiny, it’s like, a future. Mine, I believe.
4. How has Polyvore affected your life?
Oh, Polyvore. Just the best website I’ve ever seen. At first, I just tried because a friend said it was fun. So I tried. And I never stopped. I made good friends there, from all over the world (Australia, Chile, Canada, USA...) and I shared my tastes in music, fashion, cinema, TV Show just with this website. It's totally awesome. What I like the best in Poly, it’s the freedom and the feeling that creativity is infinite. It is for sure, but here I feel like I could do everything I’ve ever dreamed for, craved for. I can express myself without any limits.
5. Describe your personal sense of style.
My style is pretty eclectic. I am loving colorful stuffs, but also the vintage one. What I’m wearing isn’t necessarily the reflection of what I’m currently drawing or using in my sets. That’s quite different. But I think that’s the same for a lot of fashion designer, I mean creating isn’t about seeing ourselves as models.
6. What are some of your favorite brands?
There are so many! Let’s say that my favorite of the moment are Proenza Schouler, Matthew Williamson, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Kanes, Sonia Rykiel, Hervé Leger, DVF, Custo Barcelona, WildFox, Chloé and Christian Lacroix, which I had the pleasure to meet in Paris for before his collection, unfortunately.
