When they’re not there to shock you or provoke you or provide you with a simple styling instruction, fashion editorials are – let’s face it – about making you want to be someone else. Greg Kadel’s black and white shoot of Julia Stegner strikes me as just one of those shoots.
It’s the hair. Messy, blunt-fringed, thick, sexy. It’s the white clothing. Lace, leather, sheer, opaque. Always feminine, soft and sensual, engineered to create desire and doing a successful job of it.
