New York Fashion Week – Fall 2013: Oscar de la Renta
In perhaps one of the most buzzed about shows of New York Fashion Week, Oscar de la Renta showcased an opulent collection of rich jewel-toned silks, elegant furs and (surprising) cloche-like hats. However, the anticipation brewing around his show may have had more to do with his new in-house helper: John Galliano.
Two years after being ousted from Dior for uttering anti-Semitic comments, John Galliano was invited to spend a few weeks at De la Renta’s atelier which led the fashion industry to wonder if Galliano would have a collaborative hand in De la Renta’s show. The verdict? Well, no one can tell exactly how much creative input Galliano had on the collection, but those in the know say his influence was definitely present. Our picks from the collection are below–what do you think?
