One of the challenges for a Fashion Editor is picking up the same pieces from a particular season that have been used countless times in countless shoots, and coming up with a new way to style them. While Western inspired shoots aren’t exactly new, Katie Mossman does a commendable job of working in unexpected pieces in ways that feel like they were somehow made to grace the body of a high-fashion cowgirl.

Like Prada’s rockabilly ’50s hotrod pieces, or Yves Saint Laurent’s plunging black jumpsuit. Just add stetson hats, embellished lariats, fringed suedes and feathery braids… Mixing in the right pieces creates the Rodeo mood David Vasiljevic’s shoot was calling for.
