Otherworldly designs, otherworldly campaign: Phoenix Keating
Phoenix Keating’s designs are a little bit out of this world – though rooted in the classic, they’re always fancifully imagining what might be in the future. That gives them a dark edge, a cloud of science-fiction-fantasy that engulfs every piece with the feeling that it’s not quite real.
And every time photographer Henryk Lobaczewski interprets Keating’s designs into a campaign he plays to that feeling. His photos are beautiful, but slightly distorted or deceptive or dangerous, such that you’re not sure whether to be chilled with discomfort or pure awe. It works for Keating’s designs, and for the images themselves; it’s like an incompleteness that draws your curiosity and makes you want to keep on looking, to admire and to understand.
