The delicate beauty of couture wedding gowns (made by Nicky Vankets) perfectly complements the beauty of an opulent French interior. But when the wallpaper is peeling and the plasterwork crumbling, you wouldn’t likely put your fanciest of gowns on while you climb the ladder to do your renovation work.

That’s what makes this shoot, Fond d’Ecran (or, ‘New Wallpaper’) work. There’s something so synergetic about the romantic garments and the romantic setting, but so contrasted about the activities taking place.
