Jen Kao’s careless cool campaign
From the moment it hit the runway, Jen Kao’s fall 2012 collection struck us as a lesson in androgyny. And that was true to the designer’s intention: her fall girl picked up pieces from the boys with insouciant regularity, hats, shoes, coats – not just to make them her own, but to make them her trophy of the night before. Kao’s fall campaign is an extension of the collection’s concept. Focusing on those key mixes of feminine and masculine – and those key accessories that really defined the collection – it’s strengthening of the girl-boy aesthetic that’s strong for 2012.
