Why Didn't This Haircut Stay in the '90s?

The locks that started it all.
Full disclosure: Back in fourth grade, I once vowed to never ever date a guy who didn't have a bowl cut. This was definitely inspired by Rider Strong's swoon-worthy center-parted 'do on Boy Meets World. Dreamy right?

Unfortunately for me and my grade school ambitions, I never dated a guy with a bowl cut, since it took me another 7+ years to date anyone. By that time, bowl cuts (or mushroom cuts as they were sometimes called) had long since fallen out of vogue.

So you can imagine my shock to spy Colin Farrell on the set of his latest film sporting what I sincerely hope is a wig. This almost equals the shock I felt seeing Gabriel Mann's Bieber-esque bowl cut for the first time on Revenge. And when I say shock, I mean horror.

I think it's safe to say that I now hate bowl cuts even more than I once loved them. Seriously though, no haircut should ever give the appearance that your mom stuck a cereal bowl on top of your head and trimmed around the edges.

I don't care if you're Harry Potter's Rupert Grint, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis or Arnold Schwarzenegger, some things should be left in 1994. The same goes for you, ladies.
