(Getty) Alessandra Ambrosio walks in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Hot on the heels of confirmation that Kate Moss will be walking in the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremonies comes additional exciting supermodel news. Through her agency Models 1, Brazilian supe Alessandra Ambrosio has confirmed that she will appear at the closing ceremony as an emissary of Brazil, representing the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Remember four years ago in the Beijing Olympic handover when the UK wheeled out London Mayor Boris Johnson and songstress Leona Lewis on a red double-decker bus? Well, Alessandra will participate in the London-Rio version of that.

According to the official website Flag Handover 2012, this will be the "most visible celebration of Brazilian culture in London history."
