Isaac Mizrahi Teams Up With Chevrolet, Gets Inspired by the Malibu

. . .

(Photo via YouTube) Hey, Mizrahi! Sweet ride.

Collaborations these days are high-low, left-right, around-the-corner and now parked in a driveway near you.

According to an article in WWD, fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is teaming up with Chevrolet to create a capsule collection inspired by the 2013 Chevy Malibu.

The limited-edition designs will launch this fall on LivingSocial, ChevyMalibuStyle.com, and Mizrahi's Facebook page where shoppers will get the chance to watch videos and create Malibu-inspired fashion collages.

“If you look at the car, there are certain angles, lines and thoughts that evoke ideas about clothes,” Mizrahi told WWD of the ride. “There is this incredible blue light in the car, which is already inspiring me.”

The concept is awesome-yet-hilarious considering Mizrahi (okay, does his name not sound like a car name—Chevy Mizrahi, right?) was born and raised in Brooklyn, where a large majority of people rely heavily on public transportation.

“I am not the biggest driver in world,” he said. “I get driven a lot, being from New York.”

Um, maybe we should be careful on the streets then—he looks perhaps just a bit too comfy behind the wheel in this collection video:

While the Malibu isn't exactly our idea of a sexy car—that would (obviously) be a vintage Porsche 930 Turbo—we're still revved up to see the collection when it drops this fall.

What do you think? And if you could design a clothing line based on any car, what would it be? Tell us in the comments below!
