(Courtesy of O Magazine)A smiley Oprah Winfrey covers her own magazine, O, sporting her natural hair for the September makeover issue.
In her column, "What I Know For Sure," Oprah opened up about how hair changes one's perception of his or herself—and she would know! Oprah's had plenty of transformations. Just look at the picture she tweeted yesterday of her wigs on the set of her upcoming film, The Butler (below). Plus, she's makeup-free, which makes us love the queen of talk shows even more.
Oprah also wrote that whenever she wears her hair au natural on vacation or the weekend, she feels carefree. She did want to chop it off once, though.
"I wanted to wear it close-cropped a la Camille Cosby, but her husband Bill convinced me otherwise. ‘Don’t do it,’ he said. ‘You’ve got the wrong head shape and you’ll disappoint yourself.’ I took his advice," Oprah writes.
Plus, there's nothing like feeling reborn after a fresh haircut—especially if you're one of Oprah's dogs.
"I even notice a change in my dogs when they get their summer cuts: they’re friskier and livelier, feeling more themselves once the weight of the hair is released," she said.
