Raf Simons' First Dior Couture Show - Runway Photos and Front Row Celebs

Raf Simons presented his first-ever Christian Dior collection at Haute Couture week in Paris (that's cool, no pressure) this morning. It was redolent with classical Dior references—hello new look!—fused with Simons' modernist, minimalist sensibilities.

Accordind to the @Dior tweets, Simons took quite a bit of inspiration from the Dior archives. The intricate embroidery on the backs of dresses are "remakes of historical Dior designs," the pastel colors are considered a Dior staple, and a white organza dress, which was inspired by the original Miss Dior dress, was embroidered with hundreds of tiny confettis means to evoke the flowers of Miss Dior.

In the front row, designers and boldface names turned out to support Simons—designer Victoire de Castellane, Olivia Palermo, Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, Princess Charlene de Monaco, Sharon Stone, Marion Cotillard, Marc Jacobs, Donatella Versace, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Jennifer Lawrence.
