Thakoon for Nars Limited Edition Nail Polishes. (From Thakoon)
American cowboys and Indian spice markets? According to Harper's Bazaar
, designer Thakoon
Panichigul had those two very different things in mind when he created his spring 2012 collection. And sure enough, at his show, models sauntered down the runway sporting western wear-inspired cuts in spice market colors.
Since we first spied Thakoon's kaleidoscopic pieces, we haven't been able to get enough of the bold color palette and it seems NARS feels the same way. Leave it to the trend-setting cosmetics company to take Thakoon's vision even further by introducing a limited edition line of nail polish in shades that echo the designer's vibrantly-hued spring collection.
Not only are the colors evocative of Indian spices, the lacquers will also be named for the herbs they mimic. According to Fashionetc
, "Anardana is an azalea pink, Ratin Jot an orchid purple, Amchoor a vibrant yellow, Kutki a pale blue, Koliary a cyan blue, and Lal Mirchi is a bright orangey red." And we only have to wait a few more weeks! The exciting new shades will be available online at narscosmetics.com
beginning May 1.
