Current Obsession: Kiehl's Earth Day Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask

(Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin, Kiehl's)When it comes to the realm of beauty, I'm not overly interested in coiffing my hair or playing with the latest makeup palette. Instead, my vice is skincare—to the point that exfoliation for me is a treat, not a chore, and the highest compliment you can lob my way is that I have nice skin. I've noticed an uptick in those coveted glowing affirmations shortly after I started using Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque ($23), and I can't say I disagree.

The thick, creamy mask features mineral-rich Amazonian white clay, gathered from Brazil's Marajo Island. The detoxifying natural ingredient is supposedly used by the indigenous people of the area to treat insect bites and snake poison, but it also does a fine job of degunking pores and making skin feel amazingly soft (this smooth sensation could also likely be attributed to the oatmeal and aloe vera that bolster the formula). Other pluses: it spreads easily, is slightly cool to the touch, and tingles just enough to let you know that it's working.

And now, my new favorite face mask just got even better: For its sixth annual Limited Edition Label Art Series for Earth Day, Kiehl's has tapped actors Ashley Judd and Anthony Mackie to create exclusive designs to adorn the top of the jars (Judd took inspiration from a Paris metro poster, while Mackie was influenced by water). One hundred percent of the net proceeds up to $50,000 from the sale of these limited-edition masks benefit Recycle Across America and its efforts to create 65,000 standardized recycling labels for schools in the U.S.

You can purchase Judd's design here and Mackie's version here.
