Current Obsession: Pixi Shea Butter Tinted Lip Balms

(Source: Pixi)Some people collect coins, or antiques, or snow globes. Others collect lip balms. To say I am a lip balm collector would be an understatement. I still have the very first lip balm I ever purchased (Original Lip Smackers in Cherry), and at any given time I will have at least three different variations of Chapstick in my purse. And another four at my desk at work. Although my taste in lip balms has changed over time, my weird completely normal obsession with them has not diminished in the slightest.

The latest lip balms to gain a spot in my collection are Pixi by Petra's Shea Butter Lip Balms ($8). I like to think of these tinted balms as the adult solution to Chapstick. Not only are they rich and moisturizing (the shea butter is super hydrating on my always chapped lips), but they are ever so slightly tinted to give just enough color, so I look like an actual working adult instead of a high schooler (which I have been mistaken for in the past year, mind you).

The multi-tasking salves come in a variety of colors from transparent to vivid coral. And I can almost always find one to match any look. Right now, I'm keeping Honey Nectar on hand as my every day go-to. It's a true nude balm that's great for my daytime work look. And if I want to step it up a bit (but not quite go for full-on lipstick level), I'm turning to Ripe Raspberry, a rich, deep pink to add a little pop. But the absolute best part about these adorable tinted sticks is the price: at $8 each, my little lip balm–collecting heart can go crazy and not break the bank.
