The Most Beautiful Fall 2012 Haute Couture Looks So Far

All photos in this article: Imax TreeCouture Week a.k.a. the most glamorous week of the year a.k.a. our favorite week of the year kicked off in Paris Sunday. We watched with bated breath to see what the biggest designers had created for us to pine after this fall.

Donatella Versace started things out on the right foot—a platform-adorned-buckled-to-the-shin foot. The designer has a way of making laced patent leather, sheer organza and neon hues scandalously divine. We imagine Rihanna already has dibs on a few of these jaw-dropping pieces.

Next up was the highly anticipated Christian Dior show with Raf Simons at the helm. We can join the design house in a huge sigh of relief, as the collection was everything a Dior show should be. It was fresh and invigorating while in keeping with the label's classic silhouettes and impeccable tailoring. We'll be adding that red coat to our fantasy wishlist come winter.

Giambattista Valli closed out Monday with his third couture show ever. Compared to the flashy red and hot pink ball gowns we've grown accustomed to, this collection almost appeared demure. With Valli, however, the beauty is in the details—and loads upon loads of texture. The rich magenta and green florals, butterfly-adorned veils, and gold ivy jewelry created a picturesque scene that melded garden nymphs with Grecian goddesses and an eery touch of Silence of the Lambs.
