Even Victoria Beckham Buys Fake Handbags, Sometimes
(Courtesy of Getty Images) The story of how Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham's friendship began is the stuff rom coms are made of. Or, at least it would be, if the designer didn't have a boyfriend and the former Spice Girl wasn't married to David Beckham.
In an interview with Fern Mallis at New York City's 92nd Street Y, Jacobs recounted how, back in 2005, he spotted a photo of Victoria toting an obviously fake Louis Vuitton bag (the internet seems to believe the snapshot below is the one that started it all).
So, Jacobs — who is the creative director of Vuitton — sent her the real deal, cementing their BFF-ness.
A few MJ campaign shots of Victoria Beckham climbing out of shopping bags, and the rest is history.
