Matthew McConaughey is already a noted actor (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, A Time to Kill, and the upcoming Mud), philanthropist, and bongo-drums player—is he about to become a serious fashion designer too?
McConaughey and Canadian company Grand National Apparel have teamed up to launch JKL—"an active-inspired sportswear collection derived from McConaughey's active lifestyle and philosophy of life." The clothing line will feature outdoorsy, performance-drive sportswear pieces—of which a portion of proceeds will go to benefit McConaughey's non-profit Just Keep Livin Foundation, which is dedicated to creating after-school fitness and wellness programs at inner city schools.
"I like working on the details, the design, the marketing," McConaughey said, "and I think the JKL philosophy is what makes it unique. I am behind this brand, not in front of it: I'm the author, not the face or the definition, and that allows the consumer to personalize his own JKL story with each item he purchases."
JKL is available at Dillard's department store and Dillards.com.
