I recently assessed my coat closet, and I realized something very interesting about myself: My intense love for wearing the color black knows absolutely no bounds. Aside from an olive green coat, a cream coat, and a trench, everything else in there is inky black. (It doesn't help that everything in my clothes closet and chest of drawers is entirely pitch-black, too.) It's high time to embrace my inner Olivia Pope and inject a dose of color into my overcoat wardrobe.
Which is why I'm taking a cue from Julianne Hough and starting with a camel coat. This cold weather classic is neutral enough to work with my jet black apparel, yet simultaneously stand out in a sea of black. Plus, it's casual enough to throw on with skinny jeans and flats to run weekend errands, yet stylish enough to wear to the office with a leather pencil skirt and heels.
Think you might want one as well? Try the Kristen Blake Skirt Back Peacoat ($179, Nordstrom.com). It's affordable and adorable.
