Coco Rocha's Geometric Dress

Stylish, smiling, and cutting-edge enough to pull off even the most avant garde trends, Coco Rocha managed to give even a traditional outfit a post-modern twist. Australia's Melbourne Cup Day is usually all about fabulous hats, and while the model extraordinaire's black chapeau certainly rises to the occasion, the dress below it also caught our eye. While conservative in length and silhouette, this red and black number's geometric print created a double-take effect that's almost trompe d'oeil, or, perhaps more accurately, kind of 3-D. (It's also slightly reminiscent of the Queen of Hearts–in the most positive, playful way.) After all, if you can't have fun with tradition, what's the point of behaving at all?
