Dakota Fanning Met Gala 2012.
Dakota Fanning just turned 18, so we can hardly blame her for wanting to look like a fairy princess. Her frothy frock was not Disney Couture but Louis Vuitton, although it looked extremely youthful paired with her fuss-free straight locks.
College kids can't be bothered with updos!
Also seen at the Met Gala:
Lana Del Rey cracked her signature pseudo-smile beneath dramatic burgundy lipstick, which amplified the classic vibe of her glittering Altuzarra dress. No word if the photographers asked her to
twirl in a dazed circle to show off her full-length cape.
There was nothing inviting about
MaryKate Olsen's self-designed black gown, a stark, cool piece that looked particularly dramatic juxtaposed with her new platinum blonde hair. How long do you think it took her to get that fresh-out-of-soccer practice updo disheveled just so?
Paula Patton must really love lavender. The
Precious actress went full matchy-matchy with her look, working her Vera Wang gown with glittering pink-and-lavender drop earrings, a lavender cocktail ring and—you guessed it!—a lavender metallic clutch. Someone is very, very excited for spring.
