(Getty Images) Sure, sure, the Oscars are meant for honoring the greatest achievements of the movie industry, but every fashionista knows it's all about the dresses. Who can forget Hillary Swank's sexy navy blue gown or Halle Berry's sheer Elie Saab masterpiece? For the 84th Academy Awards, Gwyneth Paltrow stole the spotlight in her Tom Ford dress.

Gwyneth was the center of attention on the red carpet in a draped white gown. Complete with a matching cape, she looked every bit like a fashion superstar! For her onstage presentation and the Vanity Fair after party, Gwyneth opted to wear the dress sans cape, showing off the impeccable draped detailing.

The style star wore her blond tresses in a loose ponytail. She added shine with a bold cuff bracelet. Gwyneth's look may have been a fashion risk, but it certainly paid off as the queen of GOOP topped most best dressed lists.

We've spotted other celebrities with a similar look, including Angelina Jolie, Penelope Cruz, and Claire Danes. Check out all 2832 pictures in the Evening Dress Lookbook.
