It's hard enough saying goodbye to summertime, but having to say goodbye to that gorgeous orange lip you rocked all summer? Say it ain't so! Relax. We've got news for you: you can still wear an orange lip this fall—just with a few minor adjustments. Skeptical? See Nicole Richie as proof an orange lip can work in cooler temps:

The key to making an orange work for fall is to simply tone it down a notch. Unlike your a vibrant summertime orange, a fall orange should be about warmth and less about that "pop" of color. Take a cue from Richie, who attended the Nordstrom Gala Monday. Her border-line red pout had burnt orange undertones, which totally complemented her golden skin and shellacked caramel bun. Plus, it brought out the spattering of orange in her warm patterned dress. Observe:

So don't kiss an orange lip goodbye. Simply adapt it to the season. Our tip: think fall foliage—instead of tangerine!
