"Subtle" and "smoky eye" aren't two words you generally hear together all that often—especially when famous people are involved. But leave it to Kate Hudson, master of the no-makeup makeup look, to put that pretense up in smoke.
Want to give her office-appropriate glow a go, but not quite sure where to start? We got the scoop on every single product Hudson wore—shocking, it's more than just mascara and shadow, we know!—from her makeup artist, Melanie Inglessis. And wouldn't ya know it, everything on her list is available a that little ole shop around the corner from your house. Yup, the drugstore.
Read on to find out which products you'll need to add to your makeup bag, below.
For the face:
With a bold eye (even if it's more understated like Hudson's) it's important to keep everything else simple, Inglessis says. So she kept Hudson's skin light and dewy with Almay Smart Shade CC Cream Complexion Corrector ($9.99) and Almay Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer ($13.99). Then, to create an allover glow, Inglessis dusted Almay Smart Shade Bronzer ($11.49) and Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in "Pinched" ($12.99) on Kate's cheeks.
For the eyes:
To bring out the green in Kate's eyes, Inglessis continuously blended Almay Intense i-Color Defining Liner in "Mocha" ($7.99) with Almay Intense i-Color Liquid Shadow + Color Primer in "Amethyst" ($7.99) and Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Kit for green eyes ($7.99).
She then amped up the drama by swiping Kate's top and bottom lashes with two coats of Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Mascara in "Blackest Black" ($7.99), and finished things off by framing her eyes with penciled brows. (Revlon Brow Fantasy in "Dark Blonde," $5.99).
For the lips:
Again, so not to distract focus from Kate's eyes, Inglessis went subdued with the lip, combining Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in "Rosy Lipped" ($5.99) with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Honey Bare" ($7.99).
