Get the Look: Emmy Rossum's Spring-Perfect Peach Makeup

From bright lavender to rich raspberry, Emmy Rossum never fails to impress in the lipstick department.

To complement her gold fringe Naeem Khan design at the Jeffrey Fashion Cares Fundraiser last night, makeup artist Jake Bailey gave the Shameless actress a sweet '60s-inspired look, made complete with mile-long lashes and beige-peach lips. “We wanted to create a mod look, but bring it into this millennium with really clean, glowing skin and a dramatic eye,” he said.

For the face:

  • To prep the skin, start by washing your face with a gentle scrub cleanser. Bailey used Bioré's Acne Clearing Scrub ($6.49 at drugstores).

  • Apply a sheer, lightweight foundation for an even glow using a foundation brush or — our favorite for a flawless application — a Beauty Blender sponge ($19.95 at Sephora.com).

  • Highlight using a creamy concealer in a light shade along the brow bone. This will help open up the eye area, making your peepers look bigger and brighter.

  • Finish with a dusting of matte powder in a transparent shade across the T-Zone to eliminate shine.

For the eyes:

  • Accentuate the eye by lining the top and bottom lash line with a waterproof creme liner. Apply a thin line in the crease of the eye to further emphasize the 'mod' look.

  • Using the same waterproof crème liner, paint tiny strokes between bottom lashes to eliminate the need for false eyelashes and create a retro feeling.

  • Apply a strip of full, black false eyelashes on the top lashes to create a doe-eyed effect. Unsurprisingly, the Kardashian's Khroma falsies ($6.49 at Drugstore.com) work wonders!

  • Swipe a coat of waterproof black mascara on top and bottom lashes to finish the dramatic eye look.

For the lips:

  • Apply a satiny lip pencil, a shade or two darker than the lips' natural shade, to accentuate your natural color while keeping the look clean and modern. We're huge fans of Nars' new lip pencils — they glide on smooth and stay put for hours. For a similar peachy shade, try the Nars Satin Lip Pencil in "Floralies" ($25 at Saks.com).
