Okay, so this isn't exactly a beauty tool, but if you have long hair and—stay with us here—happen to do your own vacuuming, you'll want to know about this.
"This" is this thing, below—a $69.99 vacuum attachment from Dyson
. Yes, Dyson, that vacuum cleaner company with the TV commercials that feature the guy with the British accent.
It's Dyson's Tangle-Free Turbine Tool
that you can attach to your vacuum cleaner—and it will pick up all that hair that's laying around your house (long-hair ladies, you know what we're talking about) without completely screwing up your vacuum cleaner.
Okay, we're no vacuum scholars, but we know this much—forever, ever since we've had long hair (forever), and/or lived with roommates who have long hair (Maria, I'm talking to you), we've had to deal with shedding. A lot of shedding. I remember once, years ago, looking closely at the dark blue carpet on the second floor of our shared student flat and noticing that there was a thin veneer of fine blonde Swedish hair webbed across it, from wall to wall (courtesy of the aforementioned Maria, my flatmate at the time). It was really hard to vacuum up!
Nowadays, I live in a white box of an apartment—complete with white cement floors and a pale gray rug in the living area. That means that strands of my dark long hair are immediately visible as soon as they leave my head and land on the floor (thanks, gravity). But using a regular vacuum doesn't cut it—the hairs get all wrapped and tangled up in the vacuum cleaner's brush bar, and eventually the whole thing slows down and then you're stuck either cutting out the hair or taking the vacuum to a repair person. Not a cute errand.
Anyway, I've been using this Dyson tool
for a few weeks now and I'm obsessed with it! If you have long hair and happen to do your own vacuuming, well, check it out! I'm pretty sure it will change your life, just like it changed mine. Here's its inner workings:
How do you cope with long hair all over your carpet? Before the Dyson, I had moderate success with a dustbuster—but have you ever tried vacuuming an entire apartment with a dustbuster? Talk about not cute. Tell me any of your tips for keeping your place hair-free, in the comments section below! I'd love to hear them!
