Books and Beauty: Votre Vu Releases A 'Social Death' Lipstick

(Source: Votre Vu)What goes together better than a good book and a cozy blanket? How about a good book and a brand new tube of lipstick? In a pairing made for beauty fans everywhere, Votre Vu is teaming up with Tatiana Boncompagni to celebrate the release of her new novel Social Death ($25, amazon.com), which tells the story of a New York City socialite who was murdered in her apartment trying to reveal a scandalous secret.

To complement Boncompagni's high-class, high-drama thriller, Votre Vu released a limited-edition version of its French Kiss Moisture Riche Lipstick, appropriately titled Social Death ($23, votrevu.com). The lipstick was made with suspense, sophistication, and drama in mind to add mystery to the wearer. This blood-red hue is definitely worthy of any Upper East Side socialite looking to leave a lasting kiss.
(Source: Votre Vu)But this isn't the first time beauty and literature have collided. Last fall, Zoya created a collection of nail polishes ($27, zoya.com) inspired by characters in Emily Liebert's novel You Knew Me When ($27.89, amazon.com).

We're kind of liking this trend of pairing beauty products with books—so much so that we're starting a monthly book club of stylish reads matched to an equally fashionable item. Sound off in the comments section if there are any titles you'd like us to start with.
