Nowadays, you can rent almost anything on the internet. For a quick, temporary fix, Rent the Runway has the cocktail dress of your dreams, Bag Borrow or Steal will pop a Chanel 2.55 in the mail for you, and Adorn will spot you a big sparkly jewel for any special occasion. But have you ever thought about renting beauty products? What about nail polish?

Say hello to Lacquerous, a new way to switch out your manicures—without having to shell out hundreds of dollars for the latest luxury-brand polishes.

For $18 a month, subscribers will receive a selection of three designer nail polishes on loan. Play with them for a month, use them, take them to the salon with you—but at the end of the month, you'll have to pack 'em up and ship 'em back, where they'll be gussied up and sent on to the next renter.

Lacquerous just launched today and currently stocks rental bottles of Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Tom Ford, Dior, Butter, Nars, and MAC. Considering a standard bottle of Chanel nail polish will set you back about $26 at the department store counter, this service seems like a pretty good deal, right?

Just one thing: you're only allowed to use the bottle of polish three times during your rental period. Yup. Somehow, Lacquerous will monitor the amount of polish you use—so no sharing, no wasteful application, and no decanting into other containers. "You can use it on yourself for up to 3 applications throughout the month," say the rules and regulations. "Lacquerous monitors the amount of nail lacquer in each bottle and we trust our members to abide by our policies because they appreciate luxury lacquer like us!"

And, just in case you're worried about hygiene, you can rest assured. On its FAQ page, Lacquerous says: "Studies show that no bacteria can live in nail polish." So there you have it.
