Obsession: MAC's Illustrated Makeup Bags
On the hunt for a sturdy cosmetics bag that does more than just hold your makeup? Well then, say hello to MAC Cosmetics's latest additions to its ongoing series of illustrated pouches—basically, they act more like functional works of art than something you schlep around in your handbag all day. (They're so pretty you won't even want to stash them!)
Designed by Anja Kroencke, an award-winning illustrator whose done work for numerous fashion publications from Elle to Vogue, two of the cases feature whimsical black-and-white images of heavenly-tressed ladies. As for the remaining half? Those bright graffiti-style ones you see, above, are from street artist Indie 184—if your kid brothers (or lets be real, you) used to play Grand Theft Auto back in the day, you've surely seen her work.
Each bag ($36 at maccosmetics.com) is lined in a just-as-punchy complementing pattern and has a zipper up top with a looped handle, perfect for doubling as a clutch when it's just too hot to deal with makeup, let alone a ginormous handbag. Plus, just imagine: Your snobby art friends will be so impressed.
