Atlantic City Journal — Day 5: Drinks on Drinks on Custard

(Photo by Caitlin Miller/StyleBistro) Last stroll on the Boardwalk, for now at least.

As they say, all good things must come to an end. StyleBistro's trip to Atlantic City has come to a close. After five days of casinos, taffy, buffets, clubs, and cocktails, I feel like I've seen so much of what AC has to offer, and yet I'm convinced there's still more to see.

I spent my last day in AC chatting with one of the city's top bartenders, Todd Lewison from Rush Lounge in the Golden Nugget.

(Photo by Caitlin Miller/StyleBistro) If you're in AC, find Todd at the Rush Lounge. Super nice guy and great bartender.

Todd and I chatted all about his 28-year career, what makes a good cocktail, and basically what to order. I selfishly wanted to write this story because I'm the awkward girl, who on the rare occasion when a boy offers to buy me a drink, stands there and says, "Umm, well what are you drinking?" Now, I can order with confidence.

After spending about an hour with Todd, I convinced him to show me three of Rush's top drinks: the Malibu Bay Breeze, the Cosmopolitan, and the Opal martini.

See the drinks below:

For our last meal in AC, we finally made it to the infamous Borgata Buffet. This supposedly is the best buffet in the city. I'm not gonna lie, I did work. If you're in the mood to eat. Go there. Just do it.

But because it was our last day, we had to take one last stroll on the Boardwalk. We headed over to Rita's for Italian ice and frozen custard.

Just to be clear, this is not an either or situation. This is a both situation. At Rita's they mix Italian ice with custard (and candy, if you're brave, which I am) to get this smooth and refreshing, heaven-on-Earth concoction.

There's a small part of me that wants to start my own Rita's franchise. Editor? Nahh. Call me the custard lady.

We then strolled down the Boardwalk and watched the sunset.

And I couldn't have imagined a better way to end the day. Well, maybe it would have been better if this song was playing out loud instead of just in my head.

Until next time, AC. Until next time.
