Kathy Griffin gets it right most of the time. Her skin is fair so she usually sticks to a light application. But areas that typically have thicker, drier skin can make things difficult. To avoid color developing more intensely (and unevenly) on the feet, ankles, knees and elbows, try thoroughly moisturizing with regular lotion first and then use less tanning product on those potentially troublesome areas.
